The Ministry of Rural Affairs and Agricultural Policy has launched three lines of aid aimed at supporting projects promoted by local entities, companies, and non-profit organizations in the fishing areas of Asturias. In total, these calls have a global allocation of 678,464 euros and aim to support initiatives that favor the economic, social, and environmental development of coastal municipalities.

These grants are integrated into the Participatory Local Development Strategies promoted by the Local Action Groups of the Fishing Sector (GALP) and are financed by the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) 2021-2027. The aid is granted in accordance with the strategies developed by the different GALPs, which are considered essential tools for promoting sustainable development in coastal communities, strengthening maritime-related activities, and opening new avenues for employment and entrepreneurship.

By type of beneficiary, the line aimed at private entities has 185,642 euros to support projects that diversify the economy and focus on innovation and the creation of activity in communities. This call was published today in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA).

As for local entities, they will have a credit of 195,910 euros to finance projects within the scope of the GALPs. In turn, the line for non-profit organizations has been endowed with 296,910 euros to support initiatives of a social, cultural, environmental, or territorial dynamization nature linked to the development of fishing areas. These last two calls will appear in the BOPA next Monday, June 29.

The deadline for submitting applications for the three lines will be fifteen business days. The count will begin on June 30 and conclude on July 20. All information on the calls, along with application forms and electronic processing, can be consulted on the electronic headquarters of the Principality of Asturias.
