The counselor of Rural Environment and Agrarian Policy, Marcelino Marcos, has attended this Saturday the XXIX Cheese and Local Products Fair, where he has highlighted the need to continue supporting Asturian productions.

During his visit, Marcos has indicated that "it is a classic to see how from a town hall there is a clear commitment to local, Asturian productions and on this occasion for Asturian cheeses and also for Asturian craftsmanship".

The regional official has also highlighted the contribution of other trades, such as Taramundi cutlery, by recalling that it generates "many jobs and it is the line the government of Asturias wants to continue promoting, supporting this type of initiatives".

Likewise, he has remarked that this fair event "represents the largest European cheese spot and a way to show the importance that our foods from the natural paradise have so that visitors can delight in them".

Marcos has pointed out that this year the Saboreal Paraíso plan continues in operation, endowed with 27.4 million euros to boost the promotion of local products, and has announced that "over the next few days we will attend various meetings in Madrid with distributors and marketers and the regulatory councils themselves will accompany us, we will have a presence at Gourmet".
