The Asturian Network for Rural Development (Reader) validated the accounts corresponding to 2025 and the budget planned for 2026 at this Wednesday's Ordinary General Assembly. The meeting was attended by the Directors General of Agriculture, Agri-food Industry and Rural Development, Begoña López Fernández, and of Fisheries, Enrique Plaza Martínez, along with the presidencies of the eleven Rural Development Groups.
During the Assembly, a review of the main actions carried out by Reader and the Asturian Territorial Innovation Center (CIT) throughout 2025 was conducted. Subsequently, the initiatives and projects that will be promoted during the current fiscal year were presented.
In his speech, the Director General of Fisheries highlighted the high level of execution of the Financial Plan of the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Funds (Fempa) in Asturias, with an implementation of the 2024 and 2025 strategies reaching 50% of the budget, which represents 4,780,000 euros of the total planned.
Likewise, he announced that the call for aid for 2026, endowed with a budget of 678,464.20 euros, will be made public imminently.
On the other hand, the Director General of Agriculture, Agri-food Industry and Rural Development underlined her Ministry's support for Leader funds, guaranteeing new reinforced calls for 2027, the last programming year of the current CAP period.
Furthermore, she announced that in July the resolution of the call for the Rural Ticket and the Salaried Ticket will be published, the 2026 edition of which closed last April. In that same month of July, the call for Local Entities is scheduled to be released.
