The director of the Galician Agency for Food Quality, dependent on the Ministry of Rural Affairs, Martín Alemparte, held a working meeting this Monday with members of the Galician Beekeeping Association.

According to the Xunta, the objective of the meeting was "to intensify collaboration between both parties in favor of the sector in areas such as the promotion and commercialization of Galician honey and training for the sector".

The Ministry of Rural Affairs also underlines that honey produced in Galicia has the protection of a Protected Geographical Indication.

Collaboration to boost forest biomass

On the other hand, the Consellería do Medio Rural and the Clúster de la Biomasa de Galicia analyze possible formulas of cooperation aimed at optimizing the use of forest resources.

These issues were addressed in a meeting between representatives of the Cluster and the Director General of Forest Planning and Management, Luisa Piñeiro.
