The Fisheries Department has granted 62,680 euros in aid to cooperatives in the fishing and shellfish sector, as well as to various non-profit associations, in order to give a boost to the sector.

According to the Government, these subsidies aim to support projects and actions that promote the development of the area, encourage technological innovation, improve coordination between representative entities and the Administration, and strengthen the involvement of professionals in integration structures that increase the competitiveness of fishing and shellfish activities in Cantabria.

Among the beneficiary entities are the Brotherhood of Anchovy of Cantabria, the Association of Fishing Vessel Owners of Santoña, the Association of Inshore Netters of Cantabria, the Association of Fishing Vessels of Colindres, and the Gastronomic Association of Northern Bonito of Colindres, along with the Cooperative Society El Puente 2017. The complete resolution can be consulted in the Official Bulletin of Cantabria.
