The Assembly of the Association of Industrial Olive Mills of Córdoba (Acora) has unanimously endorsed the candidacy led by María del Carmen Cano to take the helm of the entity. Cano replaces Belén Luque, who has held this position for the last eight years, as President of Acora.
As Acora stated in a press release, the new president of the Association has introduced the other members of the board of directors, in which the olive mills Hermanos Pulido Varo, Luque Ecológico, Molino Las Tinajas, Marín Serrano El Lagar, Luis del Pino, Aceites Fuencubierta, Cortijo de Suerte Alta and Desarrollo y Aplicaciones Fitotécnicas are represented, for their subsequent ratification by the Assembly.
María del Carmen Cano, a graduate in Business Administration and Management and mother of two children, joined the family business Antonio Cano e Hijos, located in the Cordovan municipality of Luque, in 2015, assuming management and focusing her main work on the buying and selling of olive oils.
In her first public address, she expressed her gratitude to the outgoing president for her eight years of dedication to the association and underlined her commitment to safeguarding the interests of the associated olive mills as effectively as possible. Likewise, she urged the members present to actively engage in the management of Acora, communicating any initiative or difficulty that may arise in the future.
She also announced her intention to "work to achieve an application of the norm in which common sense prevails and greater adaptation to the reality of the olive mills" and, finally, she offered her support to those present "in any of the multiple fronts that industrial olive mills keep open."
