The Regional Commission of the Land Bank has given the green light to the granting of 343,734 euros in aid aimed at eight people within the framework of the annual call intended to promote generational renewal in the agricultural sector.
The manager of the organization, José Ramón Feito, made this agreement public during a visit to a beekeeping operation that is among the beneficiaries of these subsidies.
Feito detailed that in this edition, eight applications have been processed. Six of them come from beef cattle operations: two driven by women in the councils of Caso and Colunga; another two promoted by young farmers in Cangas del Narcea - one of them incorporated part-time - and two more located in Piloña and Ponga. In addition, there is a request for the incorporation of a young person into a beekeeping operation in Oviedo and another linked to a dairy farm located in Navia.
The selected individuals will receive aid ranging from 20,000 to 65,000 euros over a period of five years. The amount assigned to each file has been set based on its particularities, with annual payments ranging from 4,000 to 13,000 euros.
The total amount of the call, 343,734 euros, will be distributed between the current year and 2030 through annual installments of 68,746 euros.
These subsidies aim to facilitate generational renewal and ensure the continuity of agricultural operations by supporting succession processes and the entry of new people into the activity. The initiative is part of the strategic plan of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2023-2027.
The funding for these aids comes 60% from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), while the Principality assumes 28% and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food contributes the remaining 12%.
