The CHA spokesperson in the districts of Teruel, Javier Carbó, has urged the Government of Aragon to strengthen and adapt the public transport connection between the bus station and the Alcañiz hospital (Teruel).
To this end, CHA has registered two parliamentary questions in the Cortes of Aragon, addressed to the Ministries of Health and of Housing, Development, Logistics and Territorial Cohesion, with the aim of clarifying what specific measures the regional Executive plans to implement to improve this link.
The Aragonese party thus conveys a situation that affects numerous users of the hospital center on a daily basis. Currently, a significant portion of people traveling from Alcañiz are forced to go to the hospital by private car, which increases the saturation of already scarce parking spaces.
At the same time, those arriving from other municipalities by bus must get off at the station and continue their journey to the hospital by their own means, "a situation that poses an added difficulty, especially for the elderly, people with reduced mobility, or patients attending consultations, diagnostic tests, or medical treatments."
Given this scenario, CHA will question the Government presided over by Jorge Azcón about whether it considers adopting specific measures to strengthen the public transport service between the Alcañiz Hospital and the city's bus station.
"It is essential to implement solutions that allow for a frequent, accessible, and coordinated connection between the bus station and the hospital. We are talking about ensuring that anyone can access healthcare on equal terms, wherever they live and whether or not they have their own vehicle," stressed Javier Carbó.
For their part, the spokesperson for the Health Commission of the Cortes of Aragon, Isabel Lasobras, and the spokesperson for the Commission of Housing, Development, Logistics and Territorial Cohesion, Mascún Ariste, will propose initiatives to find out what actions the Government of Aragon plans to develop in order to "guarantee an adequate, frequent, and accessible connection between both infrastructures, thus facilitating access to healthcare on equal terms for all citizens of Bajo Aragón and the surrounding regions."
CHA considers, in short, that it is a priority to move towards mobility solutions adapted to the real needs of the population and that improve accessibility to the Alcañiz Hospital, especially for those who depend on public transport to attend their medical appointments.
