The spokesperson for the Vox Group in the Cortes of Castilla y León, Carlos Pollán, has rejected that a government agreement with the PP can be reached in the Community before the 1st, and considers it an "interference" that from Génova they intend to postpone any understanding until after the Andalusian elections.
"Before May 1st, certainly not," Pollán indicated regarding the possibility of sealing a pact with the Popular Party, to then emphasize that on his part "it will not be for lack of trying" for the understanding to be reached "as soon as possible."
In the press conference following the Spokespersons' Board of the Courts, the Vox leader has underlined that he maintains a "fluid" and "cordial" relationship with the PP candidate, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, although he has stressed that he does not want the media "noise" that entails detailing when they meet, when they talk, or who attends the meetings, as has happened in Aragon. "It only feeds a noise that does not interest us," he has reiterated.
Pollán has reiterated that the objective is to reach a "good agreement" that reflects the growth of Vox after the party's change of direction and the confidence of almost 19 percent of the electorate in the March elections.
Criticism of PP leadership for blocking the pact
In relation to the stance of the national leadership of the PP, Pollán has assured that the meetings "are taking place" and has said he trusts that the dialogue will continue to be "fluid," without obstacles from Génova. However, he admitted his surprise upon learning, through the press, that the intention is to halt the conversations or not sign an agreement until after the Andalusian elections.
"Well, then I think that is an intrusion by the Popular Party, or by Génova, or by Mr. Mañueco himself if he decides to change his priorities when looking for the best for the people of Castilla y León and quickly leave it for later," stated the representative of Abascal's party in Castilla y León.
In this context, he recalled that Vox has increased its presence compared to the previous legislature and has greater representation than in Extremadura and Aragon, so, in his opinion, "it is not much to say" that they can incorporate more issues into the future government pact.
The spokesperson has avoided commenting on specific issues, such as the so-called national priority, until there is a signed document, although he has pointed out that there are "core" issues that they consider evident and that they will put on the table in the negotiation.
