The Supreme Court has requested the European Parliament to lift the immunity of the MEP and leader of Se Acabó La Fiesta (SALF), Luis 'Alvise' Pérez, in order to proceed with the lawsuit filed against him by the mayor of Algeciras (Cádiz) and senator of the Mixed Group, José Ignacio Landaluce, for an alleged crime of coercion or threats.
In an order that Europa Press has accessed, the judge of the Criminal Chamber in charge of the instruction, Antonio del Moral, agrees to send a request to the president of the Eurochamber, Roberta Metsola.
Del Moral emphasizes that the lawsuit details several messages from 'Alvise' on his public channel on the social network Telegram, in which he urged Landaluce to leave the mayoralty "with the warning that, if he did not do so, he would make public content related to allegedly criminal behaviors," something that, in the instructor's opinion, could fit into a crime of coercion or, alternatively, threats.
In agreeing to open proceedings, the Criminal Chamber already pointed out that "the conditional structure of the announcement, the reference to the availability of the materials, and even the setting of time frames for their eventual publication allow for the appreciation, at this procedural moment, of the concurrence of the characteristic objective elements" of that possible crime, "as a future harm is externalized whose execution appears dependent on the will of the author."
This is the fourth request that the Supreme Court raises to the Eurochamber in proceedings directed against 'Alvise'. Of the other three already processed, two have been authorized: the one related to an alleged crime of illegal party financing for receiving 100,000 euros in cash from cryptocurrency businessman Álvaro Romillo, and the one linked to messages about the delegated prosecutor for hate crimes and discrimination in Valencia. The third request refers to the alleged harassment and revelation of secrets against the other two MEPs elected with him on the SALF lists.
In addition to these four cases with requests, the MEP faces in the high court two other investigations: one for the alleged dissemination of a false Covid test of the former Minister of Health and president of Catalonia, Salvador Illa, and another for an alleged instigation of public disorder in the context of agricultural protests.
