The Guardia Civil has reported this Friday the death of two Guardia Civil agents in the line of duty after a collision of two vessels of the Guardia Civil Maritime Service while pursuing a narco-boat off the coast of Huelva.
Likewise, he has indicated that, in addition to the deceased, two other members of the Corps have been injured, one seriously and one lightly. The Armed Institute has lamented the death of their colleagues and has wished "a speedy recovery" to the injured.
The PP asks for reinforcements against drug trafficking and Moreno cancels his agenda
The president of the Junta de Andalucía and PP-A candidate for re-election, Juanma Moreno, has decided to cancel the events he had planned for this Friday afternoon following the deaths of Civil Guard agents in the line of duty. Through a publication on his official profile on the social network X, Moreno Bonilla also conveyed his condolences to the relatives of the deceased.
The president of the Junta de Andalucía has also called for a reinforcement of resources to confront “the problem that drug trafficking has become”. In this same vein, the national leader of the 'popular' party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has demanded “more resources, more support, and more authority for those who defend the State and the law”.
Montero praises the admirable public service of the Guardia Civil
For her part, the general secretary of PSOE-A and candidate for the Presidency of the Junta, María Jesús Montero, has highlighted the "admirable public service" provided by the Civil Guard in the fight against drug trafficking, after learning of the incident. In a message on X when only the death of one of the agents was known, Montero sent "a big hug to the family of Germán, the civil guard who died in the line of duty in Huelva" and expressed her wish for "a speedy recovery to the injured colleagues". "They perform an admirable public service. We are with them," she reiterated on her X profile.
Vox blames Sánchez for the death of the agents
For his part, the Vox candidate for the Presidency of the Junta de Andalucía, Manuel Gavira, after expressing his regret for the death of the agents, has held the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, responsible for the alleged "abandonment" and the lack of protection that, in his opinion, Civil Guard agents suffer in the face of these types of episodes.
In a message disseminated on his official 'X' account, the leader of Vox has denounced that the Sánchez Executive "abandons those who risk their lives defending the coasts".
