The wildfire map of this Monday shows an unequal situation in Spain, with Las Peñas de Riglos, in Huesca, as the main focus of concern. The operation maintains special attention on the right flank, near the surroundings of San Juan de la Peña. The emergency has evacuated 1,046 people from 19 localities and three campsites, while teams continue to work to prevent new advances towards inhabited areas.
Niebla enters a more favorable phase
The fire at Niebla, in Huelva, presents a different evolution after several days of high activity. The fire is in a stabilization phase after affecting about 38,000 hectares, with work now focused on consolidating the perimeter and preventing reproductions.
The improvement in conditions has allowed for the authorization of the return of residents who had been evacuated preventively. The device maintains resources deployed to monitor hot spots and secure the most sensitive areas of the perimeter.
La Tejera allows for the recovery of normalcy in Zamora
The fire at La Tejera, in the Zamoran municipality of Hermisende, has also improved compared to previous days. The evolution of the fire allowed the residents of Castromil and San Ciprián to return to their homes after having been evacuated preventively.
The fire also has a cross-border dimension, as the most active front has been located in Portuguese territory. In the Spanish part, surveillance and extinction efforts continue to prevent new propagations.

How the fire risk map works
The search engine uses the information published daily by the State Meteorological Agency through its *Forest Fire Danger Index (IPIF).
This system combines different meteorological variables that directly influence the possibility of a forest fire starting and spreading, including:
- Temperature.
- Relative humidity.
- Wind speed and direction.
- Accumulated precipitation.
- State of the vegetation.
With all this data, AEMET prepares a forecast map that allows estimating the level of danger existing at each point of the national territory.
What each risk level means
The index used by AEMET divides the fire risk into six categories:
- Very low* and low indicate that the meteorological conditions are not very favorable for the start of a large fire.
- The moderate level advises to exercise extreme caution, especially in activities that may generate sparks or flames.
- When the risk becomes high, very high, or extreme, the chances of a fire starting and spreading rapidly increase considerably, especially if episodes of intense wind or very high temperatures coincide.
