The first vice-president and counselor of Deregulation, Family and Social Aid, Carlos Pollán, has reiterated that the Junta de Castilla y León will respect the agreements already signed with associations this year and that, looking ahead to the 2027 accounts, it will begin to analyze "all aid and all subsidies that are being distributed through the different associations" with the aim of combating illegal immigration.
After a meeting held this Monday with representatives of Cáritas in Castilla y León, Pollán stressed that "What is signed for 2026 will be fulfilled, it cannot be otherwise" and highlighted that this entity carries out "very important" work in "many aspects" related to the care of children, addictions, and the elderly.
The regional official has called for "calm" and emphasized that the Department of Family will continue to support those in situations of vulnerability or poverty, including those in employed households. As he pointed out, "That will continue to be defended, but of course, we will try to combat everything related to illegal immigration."
In relation to the meeting with Cáritas, Pollán detailed that "We have exchanged data on the work they are doing and now the general directors of the Department will directly advance in the knowledge of all their activity and especially with a view to the 2027 budgets."
To conclude, the first vice-president of the Junta and counselor of Deregulation, Family and Social Aid has reaffirmed his intention to intensify cooperation between public administrations and Third Sector entities "to reach those who need it most and continue moving towards a more just society."
