The Minister of Finance, Arcadi España, has communicated this Monday to the 'president' of the Generalitat, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, during a meeting at the Palau, that the Government's Delegate Commission for Economic Affairs (CDGAE) which is being held this afternoon will give the green light to 4,000 million euros for the Comunitat Valenciana. Of that amount, 1,904 million will come from the ExtraFLA and another 2,126 million will correspond to the ordinary FLA for the third quarter, according to sources from the Ministry of Finance told Europa Press.
During the meeting, España also detailed that the Generalitat will have 344 million from the EU Solidarity Fund to compensate for the damage caused by the dana of October 29, 2024, which caused 230 victims in the province of Valencia. This amount represents an additional 52 million compared to the initial forecast, as the Government has allocated to the Generalitat "the resources that could not be absorbed by local entities," according to the same sources.
The head of Finance has encouraged the 'president' of the Generalitat "to row in the same direction" with the aim that the Comunitat Valenciana obtains "the 3,669 million that the new financing model would represent." Arcadi España has underlined that this figure "represents more than double" the 1,782 million that Llorca requested from the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, in the meeting held last December.
España has also highlighted the "opportunity" that arises for the Comunitat Valenciana to "reduce its debt by 11,210 million with the approval of the debt write-off that is being processed in Congress at the proposal of Pedro Sánchez's Government."
The Minister of Finance has also pointed out that the update of the advance payments included in the Royal Decree-Law approved by the Executive will translate into a "record figure" of 14,993 million euros for the Comunitat Valenciana.
For this reason, he has called on Pérez Llorca to urge the PP "not to reject this measure for the third time," after the votes against in January and February, and that on this occasion "support the validation of the RDL this Thursday in Congress."
