Airbus Spain has appointed Soledad Muñoz as the new director of Human Resources, as confirmed to Europa Press by company sources. The change occurs amid the current labor conflict that the manufacturer is experiencing in the country, marked by the threat of an indefinite strike starting on August 24 called by the unions UGT, CGT, and ÚTIL.
Muñoz's arrival implies the replacement of Antonio Lasada, who will take on the same position in China, after more than a decade leading this area in the Spanish market.
With a long career in the European multinational, Muñoz has until now held the same role in Air Power, one of the business units integrated into the Defense and Space division of the group. She holds a degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and has a Master's in Strategic Human Resources Management from the Escuela de Organización Industrial.

Regarding the new strike call in the Spanish plants, Airbus has turned to the law firm Baker McKenzie with the aim of redirecting the conversations with the union organizations and reaching an understanding that avoids protests.
After the mobilizations in July, led by the Independent Union of Aeronautical Professionals (SIPA), and the rejection of the pre-agreement presented by the company, the manufacturer opted to seek professional mediation before the SIMA to try to reduce the differences.
With the announcement of an indefinite strike, Airbus has resumed dialogue with the unions CGT, UGT, and ÚTIL, although they did not attend the last meeting scheduled for August 11. The next meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow Thursday, August 20, with no information yet on the stance the union representatives will take.
