Andino Global, a Spanish company specialized in the development of airport infrastructure and logistics services, will allocate more than 430 million euros in Peru through its subsidiary Aeropuertos Andinos del Perú (AAP).
As communicated in a press release, this investment plan will allow updating and expanding the facilities of the five airports that Andino Global operates in the south of the Andean country.
The resources will be aimed at increasing the operational capacity of airports, improving user experience, and strengthening security standards, among other aspects.
Among the planned actions are the construction of a new runway and the expansion of the terminal building in Juliaca, the doubling of the capacity of Arequipa airport, as well as the modernization of the facilities of Puerto Maldonado, Tacna and Ayacucho, with new perimeter fences in all of them.
Air traffic at airports managed by AAP has evolved above what was initially foreseen, by doubling the demand contemplated in the concession contract, going from 2.4 million to more than 5 million passengers estimated for 2026. In 2025 alone, AAP managed the transit of more than 4.6 million passengers, which represents a year-on-year increase of 12%.
Leadership in Latin America and expansion in Spain
AAP, concessionaire of the Second Group of Airports of Peru, is in charge of the operation and administration of these terminals and leads their modernization process, leveraging the international experience of Andino Global in airport infrastructure projects.
This investment commitment consolidates the strategy of the Hispano-Peruvian company to boost key projects in Latin America, improving operational efficiency and favoring economic and tourist growth in the regions where it is present.
"The project modernizes airport infrastructure in Peru and strengthens Andino's international leadership in logistics and airport infrastructure projects. [...] These investments are possible thanks to the signing of an addendum to the concession contract that Aeropuertos Andinos del Perú maintains with the Peruvian State", said the CEO of Andino Global, Carlos Vargas.
In the Spanish market, Andino Global is preparing to break in as a new 'player' in the air cargo sector with the imminent launch of a cargo aircraft at Madrid-Barajas airport. Saasa Global, the airport services company of the Andino group, will be responsible for managing this new facility.
