The CCOO, UGT, and Fetico unions have signed this Wednesday with the Spanish Association of Distributors, Self-Services, and Supermarkets (Asedas) and the Spanish Confederation of Commerce (CEC) the framework agreement for food distribution (Amada), intended for retail and wholesale food and consumer goods companies, as they have indicated in a statement.
This pact, which covers more than 400,000 employees in the sector, ensures the continuity of the current collective bargaining units, thus preserving the current structure of social dialogue unchanged.
The text also incorporates specific provisions on equality and non-discrimination of LGBTI people, protection measures for female workers who are victims of gender-based violence and other sexual assaults, as well as commitments to advance real and effective equality for women. It also addresses issues related to the environment, establishes an action protocol for catastrophes and adverse weather phenomena, and reinforces the prevention of occupational risks, as well as safety and health at work.
The framework agreement will enter into force upon its publication in the Official State Gazette (BOE) and will have an initial validity extending until December 31, 2028.
