The shares of Deoleo recorded a strong rebound of nearly 17% this Wednesday in the first minutes of trading, after it was revealed that the cooperative Dcoop has put forward an offer of 470 million euros for the group owning Hojiblanca and Carbonell, for which other European companies are also competing.
Specifically, Deoleo's shares rose by 16.7% on the stock market at 9:36 AM, reaching 0.432 euros per share.
According to "El economista" today citing sources close to the operation, the Andalusian cooperative Dcoop offers 470 million euros for Deoleo, taking the lead over the Italian firms Coricelli, Bonifiche Ferraresi, and Newlat Food, the French Lesieur (Avril), and the Australian Cobram Estate Olive.
The mentioned media states that the operation, which would involve the acquisition of 57% of the capital currently in the hands of CVC Capital Partners, is in its final phase under the coordination of KPMG, with a closing initially expected for next September. If this transaction were to materialize, it would result in a giant of Spanish oil, with a turnover of more than 2.2 billion euros.
In the first six months of the year, Deoleo recorded a net profit of 19.41 million euros, multiplying by 11 the earnings of 1.69 million euros obtained in the same period of the previous year.
These results were mainly driven by the positive effect of the refund of tariffs imposed in the United States under the IEEPA regulations - annulled by the Supreme Court of that country - which contributed 13 million euros (six million euros correspond to 2025 and seven million to 2026) to the net result, as well as by the favorable resolution of a tax litigation in Spain for over-imposition, with a positive impact of 6 million euros.
