The Secretary of State for Commerce, Amparo López Senovilla, presided this Wednesday in Toledo the award ceremony for the 2025 National Domestic Trade Awards, as communicated by the Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Business in a press release.
The awards value the work of city councils in promoting local commerce, as well as the trajectory of small establishments and associations of open shopping centers in their task of modernization and business development.
In this year's call, two new categories have been added, aimed at recognizing entrepreneurship and technological solutions that facilitate commercial activity, in addition to a sixth recognition chosen directly by the merchants and attendees of the event.
During her speech, the Secretary of State for Trade stressed that "the sector has managed to innovate and digitize without losing its essence: the closeness and human touch that characterize it". In this regard, she emphasized that these awards "recognize the constancy, effort, and resilience of those who sustain the economic and social life of our neighborhoods and cities".
In the category of municipal commitment to small businesses, the Zaragoza City Council (Aragon) has been recognized for its global 'Smart City' model that places neighborhood commerce in a central position, with measures such as the 'app' "Volveremos", investments in markets, and actions to improve accessibility and digitalization.
Within this same section, the honorable mention has gone to the municipality of Alcobendas (Madrid) for its technological commitment, support for entrepreneurship, and commercial revitalization actions. Honorable mentions have been received by Vigo (Pontevedra), for its tourism projection and improvement of urban accessibility, and Logroño (La Rioja), for its balance between digital transformation and public space renovation.
Regarding the 'Small Business Trajectory' category, the main award has gone to Joyería Tena of Teruel (Tebrusa S.A.). The honorable mention has been awarded to the establishment Forn de Cabrianes, in Sant Fruitós de Bages (Barcelona), while the sweets and chocolates firm Clarion Sweets, in Madrid, and Grupo Algatec, based in Binéfa (Huesca), have been distinguished with mentions.
The new 'Entrepreneurship to Commerce' category has recognized Gafasvan S.L., an initiative based in Mayorga (Valladolid). The honorable mention has been awarded to Opcions de Consum Responsable (Barcelona) and Aupan Bakery (Madrid) has received an honorable mention.
In the 'Open Shopping Centers' block, the award has gone to the Ribadeo Open Shopping Center (Lugo), for its professional management, its comprehensive digitalization, and its social and environmental commitment. The honorable mention has gone to the Zona Centro Santa Cruz Association (Tenerife), while the mention has been awarded to the Estrela de Marín Local Shopping Center Association (Pontevedra).
Finally, the recognition for the best 'Technological Idea Applicable to Commerce' has gone to the FIEL Neuromobile project, from the company Marketing Activo Inteligent, S.L, thanks to its ecosystem based on artificial intelligence. The honorable mention and the mention have gone to Lo Próximo Digital Services S.L and to the University of La Rioja, respectively.
Also attending the award ceremony were the Minister of Economy, Business and Employment of the Board of Communities of Castilla-La Mancha, Patricia Franco, in addition to the awardees and various authorities.
