Emirates has presented its new Comprehensive Travel Insurance, a policy that the airline defines as the most complete on the market and which covers extended medical protection, compensation for cancellation, loss of luggage, and support in case of incidents during the trip.
With this launch, the company positions itself as the first airline in the world to market insurance of these characteristics, which also incorporates specific medical coverage for situations related to conflicts, with reimbursements of up to 25,000 dollars (23,250 euros) and the option to extend the stay at no additional cost for up to 30 days in these types of scenarios.
The policy, underwritten by the insurer Travel Guard, also includes assistance for extended stays in hotels operated by Emirates, reservation changes without additional charges on other airlines in case of cancellations, and global emergency evacuation coverage, among other services.
Emirates has emphasized that the coverage remains valid regardless of travel recommendations issued by different governments and can be purchased at the time of booking the ticket or added later by managing the reservation.
The President of Emirates Airline, Sir Tim Clark, has indicated that the launch responds to customer demand for broader protection against possible travel disruptions, especially in a context of high demand in the sector.
From Travel Guard, its head of global alliances, Russel Antonio, has highlighted that the collaboration with Emirates allows offering a product that raises the standard of travel insurance and improves the passenger experience.
With this proposal, Emirates seeks to strengthen its portfolio of additional services in order to offer greater flexibility and security to those who fly with the company.
