Enaire has taken part in the "Open Day" of the European project "Spatio", held in A Coruña, a meeting in which new solutions designed to safely and efficiently integrate drones into European airspace have been shown under real conditions.
This project, coordinated by Enaire through the ATM Crida Research, Development and Innovation Reference Center (air traffic management) and supported by the European Union with seven million euros in funding, promotes advanced U-space services to manage an ever-increasing volume of unmanned aircraft in complex operational environments.
Among the capabilities that have been tested are systems to anticipate and resolve conflicts between drones in real time, tools to manage airspace capacity considering noise and population safety, as well as mechanisms to limit the density of operations in areas with a higher level of risk.
"Spatio", in which more than 20 European partners collaborate, has tested these solutions in real scenarios, with trials carried out, among others, at the Loring aerodrome (Madrid), and aims to move towards an airspace model prepared to support high-density operations.
According to Enaire, the developed solutions will reinforce safety, increase operational capacity, and progress in the automation of future drone operations within the framework of the European Digital Sky.
