The Spanish technology group GMV has announced the appointment of Ricardo Sáenz Amandi, until now head of Defense and Security programs, as the new general director of Defense and Security, as the company communicated this Wednesday.
With this move, GMV "reinforces its leadership in a strategic area in the current geopolitical context," relying on Sáenz Amandi's 30 years of experience in the company and the sector.
The company has emphasized that the executive has played a "key" role in the direction of the area's main programs, as well as in managing relationships with national and international clients and institutions.
Change in Defense and Security Management
"With a solid professional career, he assumes this position with the objective of driving GMV's growth and development in this area, strengthening the company's technological capabilities, and consolidating its positioning as a reference strategic partner for its clients," the company stated.
Sáenz Amandi takes over from Manuel Pérez Cortés, who is stepping down from the executive frontline after more than forty years dedicated to GMV's growth.
Nevertheless, Pérez Cortés will remain linked to the organization as an advisor, "contributing his experience and knowledge to ensure continuity in the area's strategic roadmap."
"GMV has consolidated a leading position in the defense and security sector thanks to the talent and commitment of its professionals, the trust placed by its clients, and the leadership of Manuel Pérez Cortés," highlighted Sáenz, who added that he assumes this new responsibility "with enthusiasm and commitment."
In the same vein, the new general director stressed that the objective is to "continue driving the firm's capabilities and contribute, from the industry, to responding to the present and future defense and security challenges facing society."
