The electricity distributed by Iberdrola worldwide totaled 136,648 gigawatt-hours (GWh) in the first half of the year, an increase of 6.3% compared to the same period last year, driven by strong demand and the electrification process, according to the group's energy balance data.

In detail, the energy company increased the volume of electricity distributed in all regions where it operates, with a particularly strong rebound in the United Kingdom, where it grew by 32.6%, favored by the integration of "Electricity North West (ENW)".

Regarding the group's generation capacity, it increased by around 4% to 56,827 megawatts (MW), representing an additional 2,300 MW. The largest increases were recorded in wind technologies (both onshore and offshore), which added more than 1,400 MW, and in solar, with another 1,000 MW. In turn, battery storage capacity soared by 117% thanks to the commissioning of new projects in Spain and Australia.

By regions, the 23.2% increase in capacity in Continental Europe and Australia stands out, where the company chaired by "Ignacio Sánchez Galán" incorporated more than 1,000 MW, mainly from onshore wind in countries such as Australia, Greece, and Portugal, and from solar in markets such as Germany or Italy.

In the United States, the group added nearly 800 MW in the last 12 months, equivalent to a growth of 7.3%. In the United Kingdom, capacity increased by 400 MW, and in Spain, the generation park grew by about 600 MW.

Production rises almost 1% to 61,318 GWh

In terms of production, Iberdrola reached 61,318 GWh in the first half of 2026, an increase of nearly 1%, supported by the 2% growth recorded in the second quarter.

By technologies, offshore wind was the fastest growing, with a growth of 23%, while by markets, the largest increases were recorded in the United Kingdom (+27.3%), the United States (+8%), and the rest of the world (+11.5%).

In Spain, production stood at 32,732 GWh, at similar levels to the previous year. After generating more than 12,000 GWh from hydroelectric sources, reserves remained close to the historical maximum as of June 30, with more than 8,200 GWh stored, thanks to pumping capacity.
