Mapfre RE has advanced to rank twelfth worldwide by premium volume among reinsurance companies, according to the latest annual ranking prepared by the credit rating agency S&P Global.

"The rise to 12th place confirms the company's profitable growth strategy and reinforces its ability to support insurers and large clients in covering increasingly complex risks at an international level," the company stated in a press release.

In the last fiscal year, Mapfre RE, which encompasses both reinsurance and global risks activities, achieved historic results, with 381 million euros in profit and more than 8.397 billion in premiums, driven by a more stable market behavior and the absence of major catastrophic losses.

According to the S&P Global report, the total premium volume of the reinsurance market in Spain stood at 10.223 billion dollars (8.794.5 million euros) in 2025, of which Mapfre RE concentrates more than 90%.
