Miraval Resorts & Spas, a wellness brand integrated into the luxury portfolio of hotel company Hyatt, has announced the official opening of Miraval The Red Sea on Shura Island. With this launch, the brand debuts outside the United States and reinforces its global growth strategy focused on the Middle East.
Located on the west coast of Saudi Arabia, the resort features 180 rooms, suites, and villas. The architectural project was developed by Foster + Partners and the interior design by Rockwell Group, with an approach that prioritizes the use of natural materials and sustainability in a setting surrounded by mangroves and desert.
In terms of operations, one of the resort's focal points is the Life in Balance Spa, a space of over 3,700 square meters presented as the largest wellness center on Shura Island. It boasts 39 treatment rooms and an offering that integrates cutting-edge therapies alongside traditional rituals inspired by Saudi culture.
The activity programming allows guests to practice Arabic calligraphy, attend traditional storytelling sessions, participate in desert astronomical observations, or delve into the art of perfume creation, always accompanied by the resort's team of specialists. Each offering—from cultural experiences to outdoor adventures such as zip-lining, kayaking, or paddleboarding—is designed to foster personal growth, connection, and holistic well-being.
The resort's commercial offering is structured as a comprehensive experience combining accommodation, seasonal plant-based gastronomy at its flagship restaurant Rosemary, and mindfulness programs, in addition to spa services and direct transfers from the Red Sea International Airport.
Miraval The Red Sea is integrated into the regenerative tourism megaproject The Red Sea, which limits visitor arrivals to one million people annually and projects the consolidation of Shura Island as a tourist investment destination with marinas, multiple leisure alternatives, and the Shura Links championship golf course.
