Revolut has appointed David Elwell as its new Chief Compliance Officer and Thomas Wallace as interim Chief Risk Officer, the entity reported in a statement.
These changes come after the decision of Pierre Decote, until now head of both areas, to leave the bank starting next August.
Elwell joins Revolut after his tenure at HSBC, where for more than five years he held the position of Managing Director and "Global Head of Compliance for Corporate and Institutional Banking". For his part, Wallace has so far held the position of "Head of Risk at Revolut for the UK".
The new appointments take place a few months after Revolut obtained authorization to operate as a bank in the UK, a permit that has taken five years to obtain despite having its headquarters in the country.
At the beginning of this month, various local media reported that the European Central Bank (ECB) had imposed certain restrictions on Revolut due to the speed at which new financial products were approved.
