Deposits from families in Spain continued in April above the threshold of 1.1 trillion euros, showing a slight rebound compared to the previous month, according to the latest statistics on deposits released this Tuesday by the Bank of Spain.
In the fourth month of the year, the entire banking system accumulated 1.102 trillion euros in household deposits, representing an increase of close to 0.1% compared to March, when the volume stood at 1.101 million.
If compared to April 2025, household deposits advanced practically 5% --4.85%--, compared to the 1.051 trillion registered a year ago.
In absolute terms, this behavior translates into a monthly increase of 600 million euros in family deposits, while over the last twelve months the balance has increased by 51.2 billion euros.
In parallel, non-financial corporations held deposits of 348.4 billion euros, representing a decrease of 3.6% compared to March. However, in relation to April of the previous year, the volume grew by 7.7%. In monetary terms, this is equivalent to a monthly reduction of 13 billion, but an annual increase of 24.8 billion euros.
When adding all deposits from residents in Spain, the savings cushion reaches 1.734 trillion euros, that is, about 8.5 billion euros less than in March, although still 70.9 billion euros above the level observed in March 2025.
Likewise, the sum of deposits from residents in Spain and those located abroad approached 1.85 trillion euros, specifically reaching 1.842 trillion. In April, they advanced by 3.1 billion euros compared to March and by 98 billion euros compared to the same month of the previous year.
