Telefónica, through its Defense and Security area, has launched a comprehensive management platform aimed at local police forces, with which it seeks to more effectively coordinate their human and material resources, reinforce their response capacity, and optimize citizen security.
According to the company's statement, this solution has been created to respond to a growing need in Spanish municipalities: the challenge of centrally managing information and operations when data is spread across different applications, unconnected systems, and diverse communication channels.
The platform makes it possible to integrate key information for police activity in real-time, such as incidents, calls, patrols, fine management, video surveillance cameras, speed cameras, documentation, and communications, offering a unified operational view that improves coordination and speed of action.
The Director of Defense and Security at Telefónica, Javier López, has emphasized that with this tool the company takes "a further step" in its strategy to offer the best range of services for its clients, "combining connectivity, digitalization, and advanced technological capabilities to respond to critical needs of public administrations."
Mobile-oriented command and control platform
The solution acts as an evolved ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning software) towards a Police Command and Control system, adapted for security forces at the regional and local level. It also integrates a mobile application that facilitates the work of agents on the move and communication with control rooms.
Through mobile devices, agents can consult updated information during their interventions and process complaints or reports directly, synchronizing instantly with centralized management systems. It also offers geographic monitoring of patrols and dashboards for service planning.
The tool is prepared to interoperate with already implemented municipal systems and with third-party technologies, avoiding the emergence of new information silos. This facilitates the automatic assignment of the most suitable resource to each intervention, real-time tracking of patrol positions, and complete traceability of all actions.
Modular and expandable architecture for different municipalities
Furthermore, the solution has a modular and scalable architecture that allows it to adapt to both large cities and small municipalities. The platform has been designed to evolve with new functionalities and emerging technologies, and is prepared to extend to other emergency services, such as civil protection or firefighters.
With this development, Telefónica reinforces its commitment to placing innovation at the service of institutions and essential services, consolidating its role as a technological partner in the digital transformation of public administration and in the management of mission-critical environments.
