The Community achieved 16 billion euros of foreign investment in 2025, more than half of the national total

The Community of Madrid leads the attraction of foreign investment in Spain in the accumulated total for 2025, with nearly 16,000 million, 51.9% of the national total, attracting more than one out of every two euros.

This is reflected by the data that the central Government published this Friday for the fourth quarter of last year, a period in which the region also is the one that attracts the most foreign capital, with 5,236 million, which represents 47.6% of that which arrived in the country, the regional Executive states in a statement.

In the global calculation for 2025, after the Community of Madrid, at a great distance, are Catalonia with 14.7% (4,510 million), Aragon with 11% (3,387), Andalusia with 4.4% (1,364), Valencian Community with 2.5% (772) and Castilla-La Mancha with 2.2% (667).

United States, France, United Kingdom and Canada

As for the countries that have chosen Madrid, the United States (28.7%) stands out -where the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has recently traveled-, France (14.9%), the United Kingdom (11.8%) and Canada (11.4%).

The main sectors where foreign capital falls in 2025 are advertising and market research (20.2%), real estate activities (11.7%), telecommunications (8.9%), financial services (7.9%), decontamination activities (6.4%), and information services (5.7%).

Regarding the operations of Madrid entities in other countries, it should be noted that in 2025 they amounted to 8,950 million euros, which represents 51.7% of all Spain. For their part, those carried out from Catalonia were 19.9% and from the Basque Country, 14.6%.
