The 'fintech' Embat has appointed Álvaro Dexeus as the new head of its Global Banking area, a signing that, as the company stated in a press release this Thursday, "reinforces the company's strategic commitment to becoming the benchmark treasury operating system for the European market."
Until now, Dexeus held the position of General Manager for Southern Europe (France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal) at Pleo, a European platform specializing in corporate expense management. From that position, he led the business expansion in the region for almost four years and established Madrid as a key hub for the continent's south.
Before joining Embat as the head of Global Banking, he was the General Manager of Deliveroo Spain and worked for multinational companies such as L'Oréal and Zipcar. Additionally, in a previous stage before moving into the technology sector, he was part of the Commerzbank staff in London.
Embat highlights that "his profile combines a top-tier commercial vision with a deep understanding of the European 'fintech' market."
For his part, Dexeus has emphasized that "when they offered me to lead Global Banking at Embat, I didn't hesitate: it's the piece that connects the ERP --enterprise resource planning-- with multi-country banking execution, a solution that the market truly needs. This service completes the treasury and finance ecosystem that companies need to scale internationally."
Dexeus's appointment coincides with the closing of a Series B funding round worth 30 million euros, which will allow Embat to "accelerate the development and distribution of its Global Banking solution in the main European markets," as the firm has specified.
