The Government has launched the bidding for the contract for the travel agency service that will cover the travel of the ministries and various public bodies and entities at the state level, for a total amount of 604.8 million euros and an execution period of 18 months, as stated in the Official State Gazette (BOE).

The file is structured into five lots aimed at different groups of the Administration, and the procedure will be open, so that the same company can compete for all of them and potentially be awarded the entirety.

The deadline for submitting offers or participation requests has been set for 14:00 hours on the next September 16.

Among the services included in the contract, the transportation services by plane, train, boat or ferry, bus, and helicopter stand out; accommodation; car, motorcycle, and bus rentals; visa processing; as well as the organization of group trips.

Additionally, the reservation of rooms, audiovisual and communication equipment, catering services, and auxiliary support staff linked to the provision of accommodation when these are offered by the establishment itself are also contemplated.

However, taxi travel, commuter trains, and other urban transport means, as well as the management of accommodation in military residences and administrative buildings, as well as charter transports, are excluded from the scope of the contract.

Regarding the conditions to be able to participate, companies must demonstrate a minimum annual turnover of six million euros for lot 1, which is the highest requirement, and four million euros for lot 2, which constitutes the lowest threshold.

In the award criteria, management fees and discounts applied to the billing of air services are the aspects with the greatest weight, at 40% and 20%, respectively. Following that, improvements in insurance coverage or the duration of the offer will be valued, in decreasing order of importance.
