The Ibex 35 of the Madrid Stock Exchange has started the session this Thursday with a downward sign, falling by 0.30%, which placed the index at 19,513 points. The day is conditioned by the publication of corporate results, tensions in the Middle East and their impact on oil prices, in addition to the meeting of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB).
In the first moments of trading on the floor of the Plaza de la Lealtad, the values of the Ibex 35 that recorded the most notable advances were Indra (3.99%), followed by Rovi (2.14%) and Solaria (1.48%).
On the opposite side of the index, the sharpest declines were seen in ArcelorMittal (-1.20%), IAG (-0.97%) and Puig (-0.95%).
Within the banking sector included in the main indicator of the Madrid Stock Exchange, Santander dropped by 0.81% at the opening and BBVA by 0.09%, while CaixaBank lost 0.23%.
On the contrary, Bankinter's shares advanced by 0.88% at the start of the session and Sabadell's by 0.09%. In contrast, the shares of Unicaja Banco recorded a slight decline of 0.06%.
As for the other major European stock exchanges, the Cac 40 of Paris showed declines close to 0.5% after the bell, while the Ftse 100 of London fell by 0.2%. In the opposite direction, the Dax of Frankfurt rose by 0.5%.
The barrel of Brent oil, a reference for Europe, reached this Thursday 96.47 dollars per unit, its highest level since June 8, after the Houthi rebels of Yemen announced an attack on two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea.
