Unicaja has celebrated the closing ceremony of the first edition of "Generación Unicaja", an initiative created by the entity to foster internal talent and prepare future managers through specific training, mentoring, and the design of strategic projects linked to real bank challenges.

In the closing ceremony, which took place last Monday, June 15, participants presented the projects developed during the program, in line with the main guidelines of the 2025-2027 Strategic Plan and aimed at generating a direct impact on the bank's activity, as detailed by Unicaja in a statement.

The projects focus on areas such as promoting digital solutions, increasing customer engagement and acquisition, strengthening internal professional development, and improving processes through the responsible use of technologies like artificial intelligence, always under criteria of control and viability.

Around thirty professionals from different Unicaja departments, both from Central Services and the commercial network, who do not currently hold management positions, have participated in this first edition. All of them have been chosen for their potential to assume greater responsibilities and contribute to the entity's future growth.

"Generación Unicaja" has combined specialized training, competency assessment, coaching and mentoring sessions, along with work in agile teams (Flex-Teams) to drive strategic projects. This approach has allowed for very practical learning, intergenerational knowledge exchange, and transversal cooperation between different areas of the bank.

Esade and Deloitte have participated in the design and development of the program, contributing their expertise in management training, leadership, and professional support, in coordination with the entity's internal teams.

TALENT, STRATEGIC PILLAR

The closing of this first edition has served to underline the relevance of talent as one of the strategic pillars of Unicaja's transformation and growth.

In this regard, the CEO of Unicaja, Isidro Rubiales, has highlighted that "we are convinced that our main differentiating factor is people. 'Generación Unicaja' represents a determined commitment to identify, develop, and give visibility to the talent that drives the entity's transformation from within."

Likewise, he pointed out that "the projects presented during this first edition demonstrate the capacity of our professionals to provide innovative solutions and contribute directly to the objectives of the Strategic Plan."

"Investing in talent is investing in the future of Unicaja and in our ability to continue generating value for clients, shareholders, and society," he stressed, adding that "people are the true engine of an organization and this initiative reflects our commitment to people and to creating an environment that fosters continuous learning, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership development, essential elements to continue strengthening our corporate culture and our adaptability."

For his part, the General Director of People, Organization, and Legal at Unicaja, Juan Medina, indicated that "organizations that want to successfully face the challenges of the future need to make a decisive commitment to the development of their professionals."

"With 'Generación Unicaja'," he explained, "we have created a space where internal talent can grow, share knowledge, acquire new skills, and actively participate in building the future of the entity."

With this program, Unicaja consolidates its talent management model, based on the detection of high-potential profiles, their accompaniment through structured training itineraries, and their direct involvement in strategic initiatives.

This approach facilitates the generation of ideas from within the organization, strengthens corporate culture, and promotes continuous learning, in line with the current challenges of the financial sector.

"Generación Unicaja" is integrated into the entity's strategy to position itself as an attractive environment for professional development, one of the pillars of the 2025-2027 Strategic Plan, and joins other collaboration programs with universities and academic institutions aimed at boosting employability and young talent.
