Unicaja has incorporated three new directors to bolster key areas of Risk, Regulatory Compliance, and Marketing within the entity's strategic plan, as communicated this Monday by the bank itself.
Firstly, the entity has decided to launch a new Marketing directorate, which will be headed by Gonzalo Saiz García and integrated into the general directorate of Retail Business. Additionally, Yolanda Hueso Camacho will assume the direction of Credit Risk Models, and Héctor Martín Sampedro will be the new head of Regulatory Compliance.
"These changes are part of the evolution process that Unicaja is undertaking to strengthen its business model, control, and governance, with greater specialization of functions considered strategic for the entity," the bank explained.
Until now, marketing tasks depended on the Directorate of Individuals, Insurance, Payments, and Retail Products. The launch of the new Marketing directorate "allows these functions to be provided with a specific structure, reinforce their coordination, and align them more directly with the commercial and customer experience priorities defined in the strategic plan," the entity stated.
Saiz served as Marketing Director at Bankinter for 12 years, until 2025, and previously held positions of responsibility at Samsung and HP. For his part, Martín Sampedro joins from ING, where he was responsible for Regulatory Compliance since 2018, after having developed his career at Barclays, Morgan Stanley, EY, and IBM.
As for Yolanda Hueso, she joins Unicaja after more than ten years of experience between the Bank of Spain and the European Central Bank (ECB), where she led research on internal models. Regarding her profile, the bank emphasized that she has a "solid professional track record in the field of banking supervision and prudential regulation, highlighting her extensive experience in the assessment of internal credit risk models, the interpretation of regulatory frameworks, and technical dialogue with supervisors."
