The spokesperson for the PNV in the Basque Parliament, Joseba Díez Antxustegi, has urged EH Bildu and the PP to "leave behind their negative vote" on the consideration of the bill for administrative simplification and streamlining for sustainable economic activity and to "contribute to approving a deregulation law to facilitate investments at a time when it is greatly needed."
The jeltzale party held a working day for its parliamentary group this Wednesday in Bilbao, with the presence of the President of the Parliament, Bakartxo Tejeria, and the lehendakari, Imanol Pradales. The meeting reviewed the first two years of the legislature and analyzed "the challenges" facing the second half of the term.
In his appearance before the media, Díez Antxustegi stressed that, in an international context where "instability and uncertainty prevail," it has been achieved that "Euskadi and, in particular, the Basque Parliament are a refuge of moderation and stability." In this regard, he highlighted the "good tone" of the political debate, as well as the stability and moderation of the Chamber.
The PNV has also emphasized that, in these first two years, "results" have been obtained in the form of agreements and regulations such as the Health Pact, the Group for Industrial Defense and the Basque Financial Alliance, the law on urgent measures in Housing matters, various initiatives in security, and other "issues that concern Basque citizens."
As indicated by Joseba Díez Antxustegi, the coalition between PNV and PSE-EE "has meant a refuge of moderation and stability that has allowed for results to be achieved in public policies and to facilitate the lives" of the population in Euskadi.
Priorities for the second half of the legislature
Among the challenges for the coming months, the spokesperson highlighted the bill for administrative simplification and streamlining registered by PNV and PSE-EE, whose objective is to "facilitate investments" and ensure that Euskadi "is an even more attractive place for investment, to continue creating jobs, to strengthen industry and the economy, to be able to compete in an increasingly globalized, more competitive, and more difficult world for companies."
Díez Antxustegi has recalled that the rejection by PP and EH Bildu of the taking into consideration of this initiative "was surprising", despite the fact that its approval, he insisted, will "facilitate investment in Euskadi at a time when it is greatly needed".
For this reason, he has appealed to all the groups, and especially to PP and EH Bildu, so that, "now that the law is beginning to be worked on" —after the Bureau authorized July for the appearance of experts to make contributions—, they "leave behind that negative vote, work, contribute and help approve a de-bureaucratization law to facilitate investments".
