The Assembly of Extremadura will hold a plenary session this Thursday, the 17th, in which, among other matters, the healthcare management, the start of the school year, and the situation in Ceuta will be debated.

The session will start at 09:30 hours with the question time directed at the members of the Government Council. In this block, the PSOE will question the Minister of Education, Sandra Valencia, about the results of the PISA report and the state of school transport in the region. Meanwhile, Unidas por Extremadura will request that the Junta express its position on the strike call in the general Administration, proposed to demand improvements in the working conditions of public staff.

Next, there will be two appearances by ministers at their own request. In the first, the head of Health and Dependency Care, Sara García Espada, will present issues related to the management and current situation of public policies in her department, both in general terms and regarding hospital emergencies during this summer.

In the second appearance, the Minister of Education, Sandra Valencia, will assess the start of the school year 2026-2027 in the autonomous community.

Subsequently, in the section of proposals for promotion, the PSOE will register an initiative to demand that the Junta take measures to compensate for the increase in fertilizer prices. For its part, Unidas por Extremadura will argue that the regional government should get involved in the temporary hosting of people affected by the "humanitarian crisis" in Ceuta.

To close the agenda, through a proposal for a statement, the PP will demand from the Government of Spain an "immediate response" to the "security crisis" in Ceuta, as well as the implementation of a state plan for the "complete recovery" of "normality" in the autonomous city.
