A 46-year-old Spanish citizen, for whom an international arrest warrant requested by the United States was pending for his alleged participation in a drug trafficking offense, has been arrested in Lugo.
According to a communication from the National Police this Wednesday, agents from the Lugo Police Station carried out the arrest in the early hours of July 12, after verifying that an international search and capture warrant was on file for this person.
The National Police has specified that the man was arrested with all the "legal guarantees of the reasons" and informed of his rights, on a street near the Ronda das Fontiñas area.
Following his arrest, the suspect was taken to the National Police premises and subsequently placed at the disposal of the National High Court.
