The Parliament of Galicia has urged the Xunta to address the Government of Spain to promote a specific regulation that prioritizes the responsible public procurement of local and zero-kilometer food.

The initiative, presented by the PPdeG and approved in the Agriculture Commission, aims for "a decrease in the carbon footprint through the reduction of goods transport, especially in school canteens, hospitals, elderly residences, and other large food consumption centers."

Furthermore, in this same commission, another proposal from the popular group has been supported, asking the Xunta to "continue promoting Galician agri-food products covered by differentiated quality seals to deepen their recognition and valorization on the national and international stage."
