The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has issued a new warning due to the presence of gluten that is not listed on the labeling of a chickpea flour product marketed under the brand Harinas de Mallorca.
Specifically, the notification refers to the product "Harina de garbanzo" (Chickpea flour), from the company Harinas de Mallorca, corresponding to lot numbers L7261205, with a best-before date of January 31, 2027, and 05270401, whose best-before date is April 30, 2027.
According to the data communicated, the initial distribution of the product has been carried out in the Balearic Islands, although redistributions to other autonomous communities are not ruled out. The alert has been channeled through the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (SCIRI), in order to verify and ensure the withdrawal of the implicated lots from points of sale.
As a preventive measure, AESAN advises people with pathologies associated with gluten intake to avoid consuming this product. At the same time, the agency emphasizes that its consumption poses no danger to other consumers.
