The president of the Govern, Marga Prohens, reiterated this Tuesday that the autonomous Executive will apply "all legally viable and effective measures" regarding housing and stated that she "is pleased" with the scenario opened by the European Commission regarding potential limitations on purchases by non-residents and second homes.

During the plenary session of the Parlament, in response to questions posed by Més per Menorca, MÉS per Mallorca, and the PSIB, the head of the Balearic Executive clarified, however, that the path "has just opened" and that, for now, the possible restrictions still lack coverage. "We will remain very attentive to this process," she noted.

"If any measure is opened in the EU that is applicable in the Balearic Islands and has effective results and prioritizes the people from here, this Govern will analyze and apply it," Prohens insisted in her counter-reply to the Menorcan representatives.
