The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chad has categorically denied accusations of the country's alleged involvement in a plan to destabilize the Central African Republic. According to the Ministry, these accusations are part of a "broader disinformation campaign aimed at discrediting" the nation, "altering its" bilateral "relations" and "sowing distrust in the region."
In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that "the Ministry has become aware, with surprise and indignation, of the accusations disseminated by certain political-media circles and on social networks, aimed at implicating the Republic of Chad in a supposed project to destabilize the sister Republic of the Central African Republic," flatly rejecting any connection with such maneuvers.
The Ministry reiterated that the Chadian executive "has never been, nor will it ever be part of a subversive enterprise directed against a state which they consider 'brother'," insisting that the country's foreign policy is guided by respect for its neighbors and international principles.
In this regard, it stressed that, "based on the pan-Africanist and pacifist convictions of Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno (President of Chad), Chad will never attack in terms of respect for the sovereignty of states, their territorial integrity, their political independence and the principle of non-interference in their internal affairs, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations, the Constitutive Act of the African Union and the legal instruments of the Economic Community of Central African States."
Regarding the link between the two countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the Chadian Head of State Idriss "maintains a permanent political dialogue with his African counterparts, particularly with those of the Central African Republic and the AES States, based on trust and the common will to promote peace, security and development."
The Ministry also dismissed speculations that attempt to link these accusations to the nature of the ties between Chad and France, arguing that its diplomatic decisions are made with transparency and in coherence with shared interests. At the same time, it asked those spreading these rumors to act responsibly and urged the media to rely solely on verified facts.
The alleged plot mentioned in the official note is framed within a series of accusations and leaks disseminated on social networks and digital media, which attribute to Chad a role of logistical and operational support to armed rebel groups operating in the north of the Central African Republic.
