"Eightco" or the "Company" has communicated today an update of its asset portfolio, highlighting its exposure to digital assets and strategic investments in prominent private technology companies. In the last month, Eightco has repurchased more than 25 million ordinary shares within its $125 million repurchase program, previously announced.
As of September 2, 2026, at 8:00 PM (Eastern Time, U.S.), the holdings of ORBS comprise a $90 million investment (indirectly, through an SPV) in OpenAI, a financed investment of $18 million in Beast Industries, a $1 million stake in Mythical Games, 301,971,219 Worldcoin (WLD) at $0.37 per WLD (according to Coinbase), 16,278 Ethereum (ETH), and around $122 million in cash and stablecoins, totaling an approximate value of $380 million.
Key assets and recent industry news
The management of Eightco maintains that the company's treasury groups some of the assets poised to lead the future digital financial system based on AI. Among the most relevant events of recent days are several milestones related to World, OpenAI, and other players in the ecosystem.
On September 2, World announced the release of the source code of ProveKit, a set of zero-knowledge identity verification tools. This release makes ProveKit available to external developers of World. ProveKit is integrated into World ID and enhances the privacy protection features that make human identity verification useful for businesses, consumer platforms, and developers (World).
On September 1, SB Energy, an AI-driven energy infrastructure company backed by Softbank, OpenAI, and Nvidia, filed for a potential IPO. In the initial documentation, the company indicated that it significantly depends on the performance of OpenAI, both as a tenant and as an equity investor in SB Energy (CNBC).
On September 1, MrBeast published a book alongside one of the world's best-selling authors, James Patterson, titled The Most Dangerous Games (HarperCollins).
On August 31, OpenAI announced that its advertising business, ChatGPT Ads, reached one billion dollars in annualized revenue in less than 200 days since its launch. The platform is currently used by tens of thousands of advertisers and continues to expand globally (Axios).
On August 31, OpenAI announced its support for California Senate Bill 1119 to promote AI safety among young people. This legislation seeks to establish significant safeguards on how young people use AI, while preserving their access to tools that help them learn, create, and prepare for the future (OpenAI).
On August 21, the collaboration between peaqOS and World ID was announced to enable human identity verification for robots and machines. A machine can verify that the person in front of it is a real human being, and the same one who placed the order. It never learns a name, a face, or a number (peaq).
"Shares of AI companies have been under pressure lately, partly as a result of the backlash against data centers. This seems to be a concern for voters," said Tom Lee, board member of ORBS. "But despite this setback, AI progress continues at an accelerated pace, as evidenced by the numerous significant announcements from the past week."
"Eightco made additional stock buybacks, as the company considered that acquiring value-generating shares is a way to use capital with high returns," Lee stated.
Eightco and its bet on major megatrends
Eightco is organized around three major megatrends that, in its view, will define the next decade of innovation: artificial intelligence, digital identity, and the creator economy, with positions in each of them through indirect investments in OpenAI (24% of ORBS's treasury holdings), Worldcoin (29%), and Beast Industries (5%).
Artificial intelligence: investment in OpenAI
Eightco has allocated approximately 90 million dollars to special purpose vehicles with exposure to equity stakes in the parent company of OpenAI, which amounts to about 24% of its own assets, one of the highest concentrations reported by a listed vehicle.
ChatGPT, the OpenAI application for consumers, is the number 1 consumer AI application worldwide (Sensor Tower). On July 31, 2026, OpenAI announced that its models already reach over one billion active users and over two million businesses. Six months after registering, users send approximately 50% more messages per day and use ChatGPT for nearly double the tasks.
Digital identity: WLD token
Eightco controls about 302 million WLD, around 8.3% of the circulating supply, which constitutes the largest publicly disclosed institutional position globally and represents approximately 29% of Eightco's treasury assets.
Worldcoin is the native token of World, a global Proof of Humanity network created by Tools for Humanity (co-founded by Sam Altman and Alex Blania) and managed by the World Foundation. Its Orb devices issue a World ID that preserves privacy and certifies that a user is a unique human being, not an AI agent.
According to the business model communicated by World, applications pay a fee for each verification, while verification for the end user remains free. Both credential issuers and the World protocol monetize verified human authentication. World identifies a potential combined revenue opportunity of $6.35 trillion across 13 sectors, including banking, e-commerce, video games, social media, and AI with agents (according to Tools for Humanity).
Creator Economy: stake in Beast Industries
Eightco has invested $18 million in shares of Beast Industries, representing approximately 5% of its own assets.
