A delegation of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) met this Sunday in Cairo with the head of Egyptian Intelligence to denounce the "daily violations" of the ceasefire attributed to Israel. In the meeting, the 'roadmap' agreed upon with the Peace Board was also reviewed, which contemplates the disarmament of the group and the withdrawal of the Israeli Army from the occupied areas in Gaza, a proposal that was rejected last week by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The main negotiator of Hamas, Jalil al Haya, was received by the highest official of Egyptian Intelligence, Major General Hasán Rashad. Both analyzed "the general political and operational situation in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, pointing out the daily violations committed by the Zionist occupation."
According to a statement from Hamas reported by the newspaper "Filastin," the meeting also addressed the "contempt" of the Israeli authorities towards the agreements closed in October 2025 in the Egyptian city of Sharm el Sheikh, as well as the rejection expressed by Netanyahu to the plan.
On the trip to the Egyptian capital, Al Haya is accompanied by five prominent leaders of Hamas, including its former acting leader and now representative in the West Bank, Jaled Meshal, and Ghazi Hamad, a member of the Political Bureau.
Hours earlier, the spokesman for Hamas, Hazem Qasem, had framed the visit within "the diplomatic efforts of the movement with the mediators" to inform them of the continued attacks by Israel against the Palestinian enclave and to "ensure that the occupation adheres to the 'roadmap' agreed upon with the Peace Board."
It is worth remembering that the Israeli Prime Minister showed exactly a week ago his rejection of the 15-point plan for the Strip promoted by U.S. President Donald Trump, and accepted by Hamas and other Palestinian factions.
Previously, the executive director of the Peace Board for Gaza and High Representative for the enclave, Bulgarian diplomat Nikolai Mladenov, had confirmed that the Israeli authorities had given the green light for the entry of the International Stabilization Force into Gaza, the peace mission promoted by Trump.
