Russian authorities have reported the death of one person and several injured following an attack by the Ukrainian Army against the Saratov region, located in the Volga basin, in the southwest of the country.
"As a result of the enemy's drone attack, civilian infrastructure has been affected. There are casualties, all of whom are receiving the necessary medical attention. One person has been killed," the governor of the Saratov region, Roman Busargin, stated this Wednesday in a social media message in which he conveyed his condolences to the family and friends of the victim.
During Tuesday night, Ukrainian offensives were also registered against the Rostov region. Its governor, Yuri Sliusar, detailed on social media that drone attacks occurred in the Gulf of Taganrog.
Specifically, the impacts extended across the districts of Millerovsky, Chertkovsky, Verkhnedonskoy, Sholokhovsky, Bokovsky, Tarasovsky, Kamensky, Kasharsky, Bagaevsky, Kuibyshevsky, and Rodionovo-Nesvetaysky, in addition to the cities of Novoshakhtinsk and Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, and the Gulf of Taganrog itself.
As a consequence, two tankers sailing towards Rostov-on-Don were damaged and two people suffered minor injuries. The crew of one of the ships had to be evacuated as a precautionary measure, although no crude oil spill occurred, as the tankers were traveling empty, as Busargin specified.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has indicated, on the other hand, that in the last few hours its air defense systems have intercepted a total of 415 drones launched by Ukrainian forces against the regions of Moscow, Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Vologda, Voronezh, Vladimir, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan, Samara, Saratov, Tula, Krasnodar, and Tatarstan, as well as over the waters of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov and on the Crimean peninsula, annexed in 2014.
