Several detonations have been heard in Tehran, the capital of Iran, as well as in the cities of Isfahan and Tabriz, located in the center and northwest of the country, respectively, shortly after the Israeli Army confirmed a new round of attacks against the Islamic Republic in the early hours of this Monday.
The roar of explosions in these localities, which had already been the target of previous offensives since the start of the military campaign launched by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28, has been corroborated by the Iranian news agency Fars, which for now has not offered additional information.
At the same time, the Israel Defense Forces announced this very night the execution of aerial bombings against various military positions located in the west and center of Iranian territory.
"The Air Force, under the direction of the Intelligence Directorate, has recently attacked military targets of the Iranian terrorist regime in western and central Iran," the spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces indicated on Telegram.
These attacks take place a few hours after Iran launched several volleys of projectiles against northern Israel, which caused the activation of anti-aircraft sirens in almost 300 points of Israeli territory. This offensive is part of Tehran's response to the Israeli bombing on Sunday of neighborhoods in southern Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.
The events also occur after the statements of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, who assured that he would call the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, with the aim of asking him to avoid responding militarily to the attacks coming from Iran to favor a negotiated solution to the conflict.
In fact, hours after that announcement, the US leader stated that Netanyahu "will have no choice" but to accept any negotiated agreement between Washington and Tehran, given that, as he pointed out in an interview with the British newspaper 'Financial Times', the Israeli Prime Minister "does not make the decisions."
