The French Minister of the Interior, Laurent Nuñez, announced this Friday that starting Saturday, the deployment of security forces in the country will be multiplied by five and controls will be increased in the railway corridors linking with Spain.
"Starting this Friday, in addition to the means already deployed daily, reinforcements have tripled, with 184 police mobilized and enhanced drone surveillance. Starting tomorrow, they will be quintupled, bringing the device to 334 police and gendarmes, in addition to the forces usually mobilized," he indicated in a message on social media.
The Interior official also specified that aerial supervision tasks will be intensified by incorporating three aircraft from the border police. "In addition, railway patrols along the Franco-Spanish railway corridor will be intensified," he explained, emphasizing that the device will be adapted "as necessary."
Nuñez had already indicated early in the morning that the Executive would reinforce controls at the border with Spain following the migration crisis recorded in Ceuta, where 60,000 migrants have entered the autonomous city from Morocco.
