The authorities in the Gaza Strip, under the control of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), have updated the victim toll this Tuesday, placing the number of Palestinians killed in attacks by Israel against the enclave since the entry into force of the ceasefire agreement linked to the United States proposal in October 2025 at nearly 980.
The Gazan Ministry of Health has indicated that eight new deaths and 34 injuries have been registered in the last few hours, bringing the total count to 978 dead and 3,097 injured since October 11, 2025. At the same time, it has detailed that 782 bodies have been recovered in areas from which Israeli forces withdrew after the implementation of the pact.
The Ministry itself has added that, since the beginning of the Israeli offensive unleashed after the attacks of October 7, 2023—which caused about 1,200 deaths and nearly 250 abductions, according to official figures—72,988 "martyrs" and 173,205 injured have been counted.
In another matter, the organization has denounced the detention early in the day of seven members of the Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance teams "while carrying out their humanitarian work" on the Salah al-Din road. According to their account, five of them have been released after being interrogated, while the other two remain in custody.
Given this situation, the health ministry has demanded the "immediate release" of the emergency workers and has insisted that "attacking medical personnel and obstructing their work constitutes a violation of International Humanitarian Law and undermines efforts to provide healthcare and emergency services to the population," with Israel having offered no public response at the moment.
