The automation solutions specialist, Daniele Pericolini, presented the implementation of the automated refrigerator for blood management from Haier Biomedical's R series at the new Arcispedale Sant'Anna Hospital in Ferrara, Italy. The healthcare center left behind paper records and manual tracking to adopt the automated refrigerators for blood management from the HXC series with RFID technology. Digitalization allows for the immediate location of blood bags, bedside requests, and electronic compatibility tests, shortening recovery times to less than a minute. Thanks to secure drawers, ozone sterilization, automatic inventory, and alarms, the system ensures complete traceability, zero errors, less waste, and a reduction in staff workload. Haier Biomedical is the only company that offers RFID tags with customized integration.
Zhou Weidong, product manager of the blood supply chain, also presented two additional use cases: the HemoRio blood bank in Brazil and the Asia Pacific Medical Center in the Philippines, where the smart refrigerator made comprehensive digital tracking possible from day one without requiring additional software.
