The Iranian authorities have communicated this Sunday that their Armed Forces have destroyed a cruise missile and an American drone model MQ-9 Reaper in the west of the country, in the context of the attacks that the United States has carried out during the last week against targets in Iranian territory.
According to a military source cited by official Iranian media, "A few hours ago a cruise missile from the American aggression was intercepted by the military air defense system and was hit and destroyed in the western region of the country."
The same sources have also indicated the neutralization of an "intruder" MQ-9 drone in the same western area of Iran. The device, of American manufacture, "was shot down and destroyed by the Army's air defense systems."
In addition, military commanders have reported another incident in the vicinity of the city of Abadan, in the province of Khuzestan, where the impact of a missile has been recorded in a peripheral area. "A few minutes ago an area located on the outskirts of the city of Abadan was attacked with a missile from the American terrorist enemy without causing casualties," military sources have detailed, emphasizing that the attack has not caused any deaths or injuries.
