The Fars news agency, linked to the Iranian regime, has described the statements by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, about an alleged preliminary agreement with Iran as a "mix of truth and lies", accusing the president of trying to project a "fictitious victory" regarding the negotiations.
According to this source, the document is still in the internal review phase in Tehran and there is no definitive decision on its approval, which contradicts the idea of a closed or practically finalized agreement.
Denial of Key Points of the US Narrative
The agency rejects several of the claims made by Trump, especially those related to the content of the possible agreement. It denies the alleged reopening of the Strait of Hormuz without tolls, denies the delivery or destruction of nuclear material by Iran, and states that these conditions are not included in the negotiated text.
Fars maintains that some of the US statements "directly contradict" what is being discussed at the negotiating table and assures that part of the content disseminated by Washington does not appear in the memorandum of understanding.
An Agreement Still Without Political Closure
According to the agency's version, the principle guiding the talks remains "commitment for commitment", but without a definitive closure of the political framework.
Furthermore, it insists that the claims about the progress of the pact are part of a communication strategy and do not reflect the real state of the negotiations.
Fars adds that one of the most relevant elements of the possible agreement—and which, according to its version, has not been mentioned by Trump—is the Iranian demand for the immediate release of 12 billion dollars in frozen assets.
This point, according to the agency, continues to be one of the main obstacles in the negotiation process between the two countries.
